It's the gift we hesitate to give: too personal, too risky on size, too easy to get wrong on taste. Two of those three worries fall away the moment you look closely.
Size isn't an issue
All our pieces are 42 cm with a 5 cm extension chain — a range of 42 to 47 cm that covers nearly every adult neck. So there's nothing to measure, nothing to ask, and no chance of getting it wrong, unlike a ring, where a mistake is almost the rule.
If you don't know their taste
Look at what they already wear, not what they say they like. Someone who wears bright colours will carry a busy piece; someone who dresses in neutral tones will more readily wear a single-charm piece. It's a more reliable clue than their stated taste.
When in doubt, a single charm on a navy-blue strand is the safest choice: bold enough not to feel like a half-hearted gift, understated enough to wear every day.
If they wear little jewellery
Skip the busiest piece. A necklace that feels too loud never gets worn, and a piece that stays in its box is a failed gift, however beautiful. A single charm, or a strand of light beads with discreet charms, slips more easily into a wardrobe.
What makes the difference when they open it
A handmade piece shows itself up close: the small irregularities in the glass, the eyes set one by one, the stripes painted while the glass is hot. Say so when you give it — that's what sets the gift apart from a shop-bought one, and it isn't obvious at first glance.
When to order
Series are short and orders ship within two to three working days. For a specific date, allow a week: it's comfortable, and it saves choosing whatever's left in stock at the last minute.
